A page can look finished while important metadata or crawl signals are missing. This tool focuses on practical checks you can act on quickly.
Review status code, HTTPS, robots directives, canonical URL, title, description and heading structure.
Check Open Graph and Twitter card metadata before posting your URL across social networks and messaging apps.
Spot missing viewport, language, structured data, image alt text, robots.txt and common sitemap files.
The IMReviewHQ Website Pre-Publish Checker is a free quality-control tool for bloggers, affiliate marketers, publishers, SEO teams, freelancers and website owners. Enter a public webpage URL and the checker inspects the live page for common problems that are easy to miss before you publish, share or start building links to the page.
The audit is designed to answer a simple question: “Is this page technically and editorially ready to promote?” It checks whether the page loads successfully over HTTPS, looks indexable, declares a canonical URL, includes usable search metadata, has a sensible heading structure, exposes social-sharing tags, contains structured data, uses image alt text, links internally, and provides common crawl-support files such as robots.txt and a sitemap.
Instead of giving you a long list of raw HTML, the checker groups findings into practical categories and produces a 0–100 pre-publish score. More importantly, it creates a Fix These First list so you know which issues deserve attention before lower-priority recommendations.
You do not need an account, plugin or API key. The page only needs to be publicly accessible so the checker can read the live HTML.
Enter the exact page you want to test, including https://. Use the final live URL rather than a private draft, CMS editor link or localhost address. If the page redirects, the report will show the final destination it analyzed.
The tool fetches the public webpage and inspects the HTML it receives. It also checks common robots.txt and sitemap locations. Most audits complete in a few seconds, although very slow websites can take longer.
The 0–100 score is a quick summary, not a Google ranking score. Start with the Fix These First section. A page with one critical indexability problem can need more attention than a page with several minor editorial warnings.
Red findings usually mean an important signal is missing or conflicting—for example a failed page response, HTTP instead of HTTPS, a noindex directive, or a missing SEO title. Correct these in your CMS, SEO plugin, page builder or site code before promoting the page.
Yellow items are recommendations that need judgment. Title and meta-description length ranges are editorial guidelines, not fixed Google limits. A warning tells you to review the item; it does not automatically mean the page is wrong.
Save or deploy your edits, clear caching when necessary, then analyze the same URL again. Re-testing confirms that the corrected metadata is actually present in the public HTML—not only inside your editor.
Use Copy Report for a text checklist, Print / Save PDF for a client or team record, or Copy Share Link to preserve the URL being checked. This is useful for handoffs between writers, editors, developers and SEO teams.
Run the checker before launching important articles, affiliate reviews, landing pages, comparison pages and linkable assets. It is especially useful after redesigns, migrations, SEO-plugin changes or template updates that can accidentally alter metadata.
Give your readers the checker directly inside your article, resource page or marketing toolkit. Copy and paste the code below.
Use the checker whenever a page is important enough that a missing canonical, noindex tag, social image or other publishing mistake would cost you time or promotion.
Run the live URL as soon as the page is public, then correct important metadata and indexability issues before you begin outreach or promotion.
Templates and plugins can silently change canonical tags, robots directives, social metadata or schema. Re-check your most important URLs after major site changes.
Confirm the destination page is ready before sending traffic, posting it on social media or asking another website to link to it.
No. It checks whether the page exposes common signals that affect crawl/index readiness, but it does not query your private Google Search Console data.
Google does not publish fixed character limits that guarantee display. The tool uses practical editorial ranges only to flag unusually short or long text.
Yes, anywhere that allows an iframe and a small HTML attribution link.
No. Visitors use the same free public checker through the embedded interface.
Use it before promoting important new pages and re-run it after major edits, migrations, theme changes, SEO-plugin changes or anything that could affect the live HTML.
